The Value Program is an exciting way for RBC clients with an eligible personal bank account to get more rewards and more savings. When you enrol an eligible RBC bank account in the Value Program, you can:

• Earn Avion points when you make debit purchases in-store or online using your enrolled account.^{legal bug 1}
• Save on monthly fees when you also have 2 or more additional eligible RBC product categories, and complete at least 2 out of 3 regular account activities (a pre-authorized payment, direct deposit or eligible bill payment) with your enrolled account each month.^{legal bug 2}

The best part? There is no additional cost to enrol in the Value Program.

You will not receive a monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} in the first calendar month that you enrol your account in the Value Program. However, starting the following calendar month, your product holdings and account activities for the previous calendar month will be reviewed and if you’ve qualified for a monthly fee rebate, it will be credited to your account on your next statement. Your rebate will also be shown in the Cost Savings section of your Vantage Snapshot within the RBC Mobile app.

You will receive any Avion points^{legal bug 1} you earn in the first calendar month you enrol your account within the first 5 business days of the following calendar month. For example, if you enrolled your account in the Value Program on January 15, you would receive earned Avion points within the first 5 business days in February, based on your in-store and online debit purchases from January 15 to January 31.

If you switch from an eligible account that is already enrolled in the Value Program to another eligible account, you do not need to enrol your new account in the Value Program—enrolment will automatically continue on your new account.

The monthly fee and monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} (if applicable) will be pro-rated. Avion points^{legal bug 1} are not affected when you switch between two accounts that are eligible for the Value Program.

There are several ways to save on your monthly account fees at RBC. Pay as low as $0 per month when you enrol an eligible RBC bank account in the Value Program, have other eligible RBC products and do simple activities like direct deposit^{legal bug 2}. The Value Program is an exciting way for RBC clients with an eligible personal bank account to get more rewards and more savings.

In addition, there are other ways you may be able to pay as low as $0 per month for a chequing account at RBC. For example:

• Eligible full-time students^{legal bug 12} pay $0 per month for RBC Advantage Banking for students^{legal bug 13}
• Eligible seniors^{legal bug 11} pay $0 per month for RBC Day to Day Banking and receive a monthly fee rebate on our other chequing accounts
• Eligible newcomers to Canada^{legal bug 14} pay $0 per month for RBC Advantage Banking for one year
• RDSP beneficiaries^{legal bug 15} pay $0 per month for RBC Day to Day Banking

If you are opening a new account, you can enrol it in the Value Program at the same time you open the account. If you open an account online, simply enrol in the Value Program when you are invited to do so.

You will not receive a monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} in the first calendar month that you enrol your account in the Value Program. However, you will continue to receive the MultiProduct Rebate^{legal bug 8} (if eligible) for the remainder of the calendar month.

Some, but not all, joint accounts are eligible. “Joint OR” accounts can be enrolled in the Value Program, provided that they have a maximum of two joint owners and both owners are 13 years of age or older. “Joint AND” accounts, “Joint OR” accounts with 3+ owners, and “Joint OR” accounts with an owner who is under age 13 are not eligible for the Value Program.

If you convert your sole-owned account to an eligible joint account, any sole-owned products you are using to qualify for the monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} would require consent for you to continue receiving the monthly fee rebate through the Value Program. You may not be able to receive the rebate without providing this consent. Any other products held in joint ownership with an exact name match (for example, a joint mortgage) would automatically be counted. In addition, the newly added joint owner could contribute their own individual products to the joint account—they would simply need to provide their consent.

You will keep all of the Avion points^{legal bug 1} you have earned using the account and the new joint account owner will be able to contribute to earning points as well as have the ability to redeem points.

No, matching product ownership is not required, but if there is matching ownership on an eligible product, that product will automatically be counted as a product category in the Value Program.

Here’s how eligible product categories can be used towards an eligible joint account enrolled in the Value Program:

• If you hold another joint product together in an eligible product category, that product will automatically be counted towards the Value Program—all names must match exactly for both the joint account and the other eligible product. The one exception is that we will need one product owner’s consent for a small business account to be counted towards the joint account, even if the names are an exact match. For example, Jon and Jane have a joint personal account, and jointly own a small business account. The business account would not be counted automatically—one of them would have to give consent first.
• If one of you holds a product in an eligible product category individually, that product can be counted towards the Value Program—we just need that product owner’s consent. Consent to share individual products towards a joint account is “all or nothing”. This means when a product owner consents for an individual product to be counted, consent is given for all of their individual products to be counted towards the joint account.
• If one or both of you have a small business account relationship with us (even if you jointly own the business together), that small business relationship can be counted towards the Value Program as an eligible product category. We just need one product owner’s consent (even if the name on the small business account exactly matches the name on the personal joint account).

Note that any product holding—whether held jointly or individually—can only apply to one enrolled account in determining that account’s eligibility for a monthly fee rebate2 and earn rate for Avion points.^{legal bug 1}

Both owners on a “Joint OR” account can participate in the Value Program. Each owner in a “Joint OR” account enrolled in the Value Program can:

• Earn Avion points^{legal bug 1} by making debit purchases in-store or online using the enrolled account
• View, redeem and transfer Avion points earned using the enrolled account^{legal bug 9}
• Have their eligible products be counted towards Value Program benefit determination and complete monthly account activities to qualify for the monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} on the enrolled account
• Cancel enrolment in the Value Program at any time

In addition:

• If you hold a joint product together in an eligible product category, that product will automatically be counted towards the Value Program (all names must match exactly for both the joint account and the other eligible product—and there cannot be any other owners on the eligible product).
• If one of you holds a product in an eligible product category individually, that product can be counted towards the Value Program; however, we would need that product owner’s consent. Consent to share individual products towards a joint account is “all or nothing”. This means that when a product owner consents for an individual product to be counted, consent is given for all of their individual products to be counted towards the joint account.

You can participate in the Value Program if you have an eligible personal RBC bank account enrolled in the program. Your RBC small business account relationship can be counted as an eligible product category towards an enrolled bank account.

• For sole personal bank accounts, your small business account will automatically be counted as a product category in the Value Program if you have linked your personal and business profiles with an advisor.
• For joint personal bank accounts, consent must be given in order for a small business account to be counted as a product category—even if both you and your co-owner share a small business account and hold a joint personal account together. For example, Jon and Jane have a joint personal account, and jointly own a small business account. The business account would not be counted automatically—one of them would have to give consent first.

For example, Jon and Jane have a small business account together and also a joint personal bank account. Either Jon or Jane must still provide consent for the small business account relationship to be counted as a product category towards their joint personal account. If Jane provides this consent, any other individual eligible products she holds at RBC will also be counted towards the joint personal account. If, instead, Jon provides the consent, any other individual eligible products he holds at RBC will also be counted towards the joint personal account. This is because consent to share individual products towards a joint account is “all or nothing”.

Both programs offer a monthly fee rebate for having an eligible RBC bank account and other eligible RBC products. However, the Value Program also gives you the ability to earn Avion points^{legal bug 1} when you use your enrolled account to make in-store and online debit purchases. The Value Program also offers more ways to earn a monthly fee rebate.^{legal bug 2}

If you currently have the MultiProduct Rebate^{legal bug 8} on an account, but you do not complete at least 2 out of 3 regular account activities (a pre-authorized payment, direct deposit or eligible bill payment) each month, the Value Program may not be the right fit for you.

Note: MultiProduct Rebate is only available to bank accounts opened prior to April 27, 2021.

It depends. An existing bank account receiving the MultiProduct Rebate^{legal bug 8} prior to the date on which the Value Program became available to the Canadian public (April 27, 2021) can continue to receive the MultiProduct Rebate as long as you continue to have the correct product holdings to qualify for it and you do not enrol that account in the Value Program.

Here are some situations that could impact your MultiProduct Rebate:

• If you enrol an account currently receiving the MultiProduct Rebate in the Value Program, you will permanently lose the benefit of, and any future eligibility for, the MultiProduct Rebate on that account. However, you will have the opportunity to earn a monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} through the Value Program if you enrol your account in the program. In addition to earning a monthly fee rebate when you meet applicable criteria, you will also be able to earn Avion points^{legal bug 1} on in-store and online debit purchases.
• If you switch from an account currently receiving the MultiProduct Rebate to an account that is not eligible for the MultiProduct Rebate (such as RBC Advantage Banking), you will permanently lose the MultiProduct Rebate on that account. However, you will have the opportunity to earn a monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} through the Value Program if you enrol your account in the program. In addition to earning a monthly fee rebate when you meet applicable criteria, you will also be able to earn Avion points^{legal bug 1} on in-store and online debit purchases.
• If you have more than one account—and one is receiving the MultiProduct Rebate and one is enrolled in the Value Program—eligible product categories you have will be counted towards the account(s) enrolled in the Value Program first. This means you must have enough eligible product categories to meet the criteria for both the Value Program and the MultiProduct Rebate or you will (reversibly) lose your monthly fee rebate on the account with the MultiProduct Rebate. Should you wish to restore the MultiProduct Rebate, simply opt out of the Value Program on the other account.

It is not possible to have more than one monthly fee rebate on the same bank account. However, you could participate in both the MultiProduct Rebate^{legal bug 8} and the Value Program if you have two different bank accounts with RBC, where:

• One bank account is enrolled in the Value Program, you hold at least two eligible product categories, and you do certain account activities each month (like direct deposit) in the enrolled account; and
• The other bank account is eligible for and receives the MultiProduct Rebate by meeting its qualifying criteria (only available to bank accounts opened prior to April 27, 2021).

For example, Jane opened an RBC Day to Day Banking account prior to April 27, 2021. She has two credit cards and two investments, so she currently benefits from the MultiProduct Rebate. Jane also opened an RBC Advantage Banking account after April 27, 2021 and enrolled this account in the program. She can earn the MultiProduct Rebate on her Day to Day Banking account and a Value Program Rebate on her Advantage Banking account

Note that eligible product categories will be counted towards account(s) enrolled in the Value Program first. This means you must have enough eligible product categories to meet the criteria for both the Value Program and the MultiProduct Rebate or you will lose your monthly fee rebate on the account with the MultiProduct Rebate—unless you decide to opt out of the Value Program.

For example, Jane opened an RBC Day to Day Banking account prior to April 27, 2021. She has one credit card and one investment, so she currently benefits from the MultiProduct Rebate. Jane also opened an RBC Advantage Banking account after April 27, 2021 and enrolled this account in the Value Program. Her one credit card and one investment product will be counted towards her Advantage Banking account, which means she would lose the MultiProduct Rebate on her Day to Day Banking account. That said, Jane could opt her Advantage Banking account out of the Value Program, and her product categories would be reallocated to the Day to Day Banking account, restoring her MultiProduct Rebate.

Yes, you must do at least 2 of the following 3 account activities each month with each bank account enrolled in the Value Program in order to earn a monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} for each enrolled account:

• Pre-authorized payment
• Direct deposit
• Eligible bill payment

Note: Our system “looks back” at your previous month's activity. For example, on June 1, the system will “look back” on May 1 to May 31 to determine whether your account qualified for the monthly fee rebate and the number of Avion points^{legal bug 1} you earned. The monthly fee rebate would be applied on your statement cycle date in June, and the Avion points you earned between May 1 and May 31 would be applied within the first 5 business days of June.

If you qualify for the monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} in a given month, you will see the rebate on your account statement the following calendar month. Your rebate will also be shown in the Cost Savings section of your Vantage Snapshot within the RBC Mobile app.

You can view your Avion points by signing in to rbcrewards.com or on the Avion Rewards app.^{legal bug 10}

• After signing in to rbcrewards.com, click the “Personal Rewards” drop-down menu and select “Banking Rewards”.
• If you only have a bank account, you will see that first. If you have a bank account and an Avion Rewards credit card, the product with the most points will display first.
• Under the “Points Activity” tab, you can see your points activity for each Avion Rewards product you have.

You can also view your Avion points in your Vantage Snapshot within the RBC Mobile app:

• Sign in to the RBC Mobile app.
• Tap More.
• Tap Vantage Snapshot. Your points will be listed under Available Points Balance.

If you close a bank account that is enrolled in the Value Program:

• The monthly fee rebate^{legal bug 2} you receive will be based on the number of eligible product categories you had and the specific account activities you completed (pre-authorized payment, direct deposit, eligible bill payment) in the previous calendar month. If you close your account on a day other than the last day of the calendar month, your monthly fee rebate will be pro-rated and paid on your next statement cycle date.
• Avion points^{legal bug 1} are earned up until the day the account is closed and are based on debit purchases made from the first day of the calendar month through the date you close your account.

After closing your account, you have 12 months to use your Avion points, which can be redeemed by calling the RBC Advice Centre at 1-800-769-25121-800-769-2512 .
