You can send an International Money Transfer in 3 simple steps:
- 1) Sign in to RBC Online Banking or the RBC Mobile app and select International Money Transfer
- 2) Enter the recipient information including address and account number. You’ll also need the destination bank’s name and location, SWIFT/BIC code, or APA Routing Number.
- 3) Most funds are delivered globally within 2 business days
You can withdraw local currency from your CAD denominated RBC chequing account using your RBC Client Card anywhere the PLUS logo is displayed. Please keep in mind that in some countries, ATMs only accept 4-digit PINs.

While there are no foreign transaction fees for purchases in the U.S. or in USD, there may be foreign transaction fees for purchases conducted in a foreign currency. RBC Bank Foreign Transaction Fees: Visa Signature Black - 1.5% of the U.S. dollar amount of the transaction, Visa Signature Black Plus - Foreign transaction fee does not apply, Visa Platinum - 3.0% of the U.S. dollar amount of the transaction. Late Payment Fee – up to $35. Returned Payment Fee – up to $35. Annual Fee Visa Signature Black Plus – $75. Annual Percentage Rate is Prime Rate plus a margin between 9.99% and 16.74% for Visa Platinum and Visa Signature Accounts based on your credit worthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. Prime Rate: As published in the Wall Street Journal; current rate is 8.50% as of July 27, 2023.
To be considered a full-time student, you must attend a primary or secondary school OR be enrolled in a program at the post-secondary level at a college, university or other educational institution (whether in Canada or not). If you are a post-secondary student, you must take at least 60% of the usual course load for the program in which you are enrolled in any particular semester. Proof of enrollment may be requested at our discretion. Students who are 25 years of age and older must provide proof of enrollment
