Before you can make bill payments, you’ll need to set up a list of payees.
To Add a Payee in the Mobile app:
- Tap Move Money in the Navigation Bar
- Tap the Action Button in the Navigation Bar
- Tap Add a Payee
- Search a company name alphabetically or by category. You can also enter a name to search, if the company is registered, it'll appear.
- Select a Payee
- Add an optional Nickname, and the Account Number
- Tap Save
To Pay a Bill in the Mobile app:
- Tap Move Money in the Navigation Bar
- Tap Pay a Bill
- Follow the on-screen instructions

To Add a Payee in Online Banking:
- Sign in and click Add Payee in the Quick Payments & Transfers box on the right side of the page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
New! Add CRA as a Payee in Online Banking:
- Sign in and click Pay Bills & Transfer Funds under Transfers and Payments on the right side of the page
- Select Add Canada Revenue Agency Payee under Add Payees and Recipients
- Select the CRA Payee according to your needs and click Continue
- Add your Account Number (your 9-digit Social Insurance Number for personal income tax payments; your 9-digital numeric account number or customer number for Child and Family benefits) and click Continue
To Pay a Bill in Online Banking:
- From the Accounts Summary page, go to Quick Payments & Transfers on the right side of the page. You can also click on Pay Bills from the information box at the top of the page when viewing your chequing or savings account.
- Select the Amount, the From Account and the recipient in the To field.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
To Pay a Bill at an ATM:
- After locating an RBC ATM and entering your PIN, select Transfer & Payment from the main screen
- Select Pay Bills
- Select a payee or enter a short number # and press OK
- Enter the amount and press OK
- Select the account you would like to pay from
- Review and select Confirm Payment
- From the Transaction Complete screen, select what you would like to do next, or if you are done.
