Making and Collecting Payments in Canadian and U.S. Currencies

Payments can only be sent in USD dollars to financial institutions in the United States that are members of Automated Clearing House (ACH). Payments in USD can be credited or debited to your US dollar account or to your Canadian dollar account and converted to the US dollar equivalent at the prevailing rate. Clients who send their electronic payments using the CPA file format cannot submit payments to the United States.

Payments requiring currency conversion are converted at the customer level. Payments returned will be converted back to the currency of service at the prevailing rate – the foreign exchange rate on the day that the item is returned. Therefore, the amount of the returned payment may vary from the original payment amount as a result of fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.

Payments destined to account holders in the United States must be paid in USD. Canadian dollar transactions cannot be sent to the United States.
