Accounts payable is money a business owes to its suppliers or vendors for goods and services it has purchased. These funds are typically due in the short-term. Money owed to employees is not considered part of accounts payable.
Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) also known as Automatic Fund Transfers (AFT), are electronic direct credit or direct debit transactions. They are commonly known in Canada as direct deposits or pre-authorized debits (PADs) where money is debited or credited from a client’s account automatically. AFTs are cleared by the Canadian Payments Association’s Automated Clearing Settlement System (ACSS).
