Am I eligible to apply online for a business deposit account and/or credit?
If you meet the following criteria, you can apply for business deposit and business credit products through this online application, otherwise please schedule an appointment with an RBC Royal Bank representative.
What type of information is needed to apply?
You need the following information to apply:
How long does the application/approval process take?
An RBC Royal Bank representative will contact you within 3-5 business days of the application submission, excluding weekends and public holidays, to initiate the application processing.
If you want to start the credit or deposit account application process sooner, please contact 1-800-769-2520 for assistance. Our Business Advisors can take your credit application over the phone, or book an appointment to open your business account.
Once your online application is submitted, contact 1-866-811-0718 and speak with a Business Advisor to follow up your application status, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Why do you ask for my Social Insurance Number?
Providing your social insurance number (SIN) is not mandatory, however it does help us with the application process. Your social insurance number is a unique number, it helps us to identify you quickly and efficiently and is a good way to make sure information provided to us in a credit bureau report actually refers to you.
If we have your social insurance number, we may use it for tax related purposes if you hold a product generating income and share it with the appropriate government agencies, and we may also share it with credit reporting agencies as an aid to identify you.
However, providing your social insurance number as part of this application process is voluntary for you.
What will my email address be used for?
Your email address serves as your username for the ‘suspend and resume’ feature in the online application. The ‘suspend and resume’ feature enables you to save your incomplete application, and then resume at a later time. When you resume, you have to enter your email ID and your chosen password in order to access your incomplete application.
RBC Royal Bank will never ask you to provide confidential information, such as your account number, PIN number or password through regular email.
Is my personal and business information safe?
Your personal and business information is safe with us.
At RBC Royal Bank, we are committed to your financial well-being, and protecting the privacy & security of the information you share with us.
We diligently work to maintain our online security to the highest possible standards and controls, which include:
