Whether you are an experienced investor or just starting out, there’s an exciting feature from RBC Direct Investing™ that you’ll want to know about. With an RBC Direct Investing Practice Account you can take online investing for a “test drive”. This can help you become more confident in your investment decisions, no matter what your previous experience.
It’s easy and it’s free!
Available to all RBC Online Banking and RBC Direct Investing clients, Practice Accounts are great way to find out first-hand how online investing works and because you are practicing, you are not putting real money on the line. There is no complicated account opening process, just a few clicks and you are ready to start practicing.
Practice Accounts are funded with $100,000 of “practice money,” which you use to create a mock portfolio. Choose from a variety of investments, including mutual funds, stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and because you can use your Practice Account for as long as you would like, you can track your mock portfolio over time, to see how your “investments” are doing.
Whatever your starting point, you’ll gain knowledge and experience making your own investment decisions with RBC Direct Investing Practice Accounts.
Improve your investing skills
Whether you’re investing for the short or long-term, you can grow your skills with tools, tips and tutorials. And then you can test your knowledge with a Practice Account.
These resources including Practice Accounts will help you gain confidence as an investor and develop the knowledge necessary for building your investment plan.
Starting is simple
RBC Direct Investing Practice Accounts are easy to set up, easy to use — and best of all they are free. Because they are fully integrated in the RBC Direct Investing site, there’s no special software to download and no complicated account-opening process. It takes just minutes to activate a Practice Account. Simply:
- Login to RBC Online Banking.
- Select the Practice Accounts image. (You’ll find it on your RBC Online Banking Accounts Summary page.)
- Follow the easy on-screen steps to get started!
You can set up your Practice Account as a cash investment account, a Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) account or a margin account.
