The services may change over time. We may give you notice of changes as described in the “Changes” section. We currently provide the services in English only.
- There may be times when at least some of the services are not available.
- The services currently provided are described in more detail below:
-
(I) CASH BACK DEALS
- Participating in Cash Back Deals
- To participate in Cash Back Deals you must have the latest version of the RBC Launch app downloaded to an eligible device, which is any device with a minimum operating system of iOS 15.
- To participate in Cash Back Deals you must also have an RBC Royal Bank Canadian dollar personal deposit account.
- To receive notification of available offers you must enable the Cash Back Deals Safari browser extension on your device.
- The extension will enable us to present an offer to you from a participating merchant when you are browsing the participating merchant’s site using your device.
- Note: the offer is only available at the time it is presented to you and may not be available the next time you browse the participating merchant’s site.
- The extension will also provide an ability to search for participating merchants.
- Note: an offer a participating merchant is only available at the time it is presented to you and may not be available the next time you search for the participating merchant.
- Earning Cash Back
- To earn the cash back identified in the offer you must: (1) activate the offer prior to completing an eligible transaction (eligibility requirements will be disclosed in the offer terms); and (2) complete the eligible transaction using the Safari browser on your device during the same session you activated the offer.
- Note: if you have opted in for another offer through the same merchant or through an alternative offers program, it is possible that you do not receive the cash back through us. However, in such case, you should receive the applicable offer from the merchant or alternative offers program if you are eligible.
- The offer is funded by the participating merchant and the merchant is responsible for all terms applicable to the offer, including any exclusions, restrictions, limitations or requirements, which are set out in the offer terms.
- Cash back is earned on the pre-tax amount of the personal purchase.
- Cash back is earned on the Canadian dollar equivalent (calculated same day) of qualifying purchases made in a currency other than Canadian dollars.
- Note: in limited circumstances, where the currency is converted to USD prior to CAD, the cash back earned may be subject to a foreign exchange fee in which case the cash back displayed within the app will include the applicable foreign exchange fee.
- Any returns and adjustments will reduce or cancel the cash back earned by the amounts originally charged.
- To earn the cash back identified in the offer you must: (1) activate the offer prior to completing an eligible transaction (eligibility requirements will be disclosed in the offer terms); and (2) complete the eligible transaction using the Safari browser on your device during the same session you activated the offer.
- Holding Period
- Earned cash back will be subject to a holding period determined solely by the merchant.
- The applicable holding period is based on the participating merchant’s return policy and when the merchant funds the cash back.
- Note: in some industries, for example travel and accommodations, the holding period may apply until the trip or stay has concluded and the merchant funds the cash back.
- Cash back that is subject to the holding period is referred to as “pending” and will remain “pending” until the applicable return period has ended and the merchant has funded the offer.
- Receiving Cash Back
- After the applicable holding period, the earned cash back is referred to as “confirmed” and is ready to be deposited.
- To receive the “confirmed” cash back you must have an RBC Royal Bank Canadian dollar personal deposit account for us to deposit the cash back and you must maintain the account in good standing until the cash back is deposited.
- Note: if you close or otherwise lose access to your RBC Royal Bank account we will not be able to deposit the cash back.
- We will automatically deposit any “confirmed” cash back into your RBC Royal Bank Canadian dollar personal deposit account on a monthly basis.
- Note: you can expect to receive the “confirmed” cash back in your account by 10th business day of the month.
- Disputing Cash Back
- If the amount of pending or confirmed cash back is incorrect or if you completed an eligible transaction after activating an offer and the applicable cash back did not appear in your account, you have 45 days from the end of the applicable holding period to dispute the amount of cash back earned, after which you may no longer dispute the amount of cash back earned.
- You can contact us at 1-800-769-2536 for any such dispute. Please be prepared to provide the necessary details to resolve the dispute including but not limited to: proof of purchase that includes the merchant name, order ID or transaction ID, date, items purchased, total sale amount and purchaser name; as well as any cash back received (if applicable) and other offers or promotions utilized.
- The maximum amount payable under a disputed claim is $10 CAD and we will make a maximum of three (3) payouts per person per year for disputed claims.
