You can activate your credit card in one of the following ways:

• If you have access to Online Banking, sign in using your Client Card/Username and Password. Select your credit card on the Accounts Summary page. You will be taken to the Credit Card Account Details page, where you can select "Activate My Credit Card". Follow the on-screen prompts.
• If you don’t have access to Online Banking, go to www.rbc.com/activate. While activating your card, you can also enrol in Online Banking, if you wish.
• If you want to activate your Personal or Business Banking credit card over the phone, please call 1 877 900 5900. For Private Banking credit cards, please call 1 888 769 2585.

As soon as your new card is activated, please remember to sign the back of the card. If you are replacing an older credit card, remember to destroy your old card.

If you want to re-activate a cancelled or closed credit card, please call us at 1 800 769 2512.

If you are eligible for BalanceProtector Max, you can apply for it when you activate your new credit card or any time after your card has been activated.

To apply for BalanceProtector Max when you activate your credit card:

• If you have access to Online Banking, sign in using your Client Card/Username and Password. Select your new credit card on the Accounts Summary page. You will be taken to the Credit Card Account Details page, where you can select “Activate My Credit Card.” Follow the on-screen prompts to activate and apply for BalanceProtector Max coverage.
• If you don’t have access to Online Banking, go to rbc.com/activate (opens in new window). Follow the on-screen prompts to activate and apply for BalanceProtector Max coverage. You can apply for BalanceProtector Max after your credit card has already been activated:
  • by calling RBC Cards Sales and Service at 1-800-769-2512
  • via Online Banking (OLB), or
  • by visiting a branch

Enroling in BalanceProtector Max at time of card activation is optional. If, at any time after activating your credit card, you decide to apply for BalanceProtector Max, you can do so:

• by calling RBC Cards Sales and Service at 1-800-769-2512
• via Online Banking (OLB), or
• by visiting a branch
