What You Need to Apply

Bring the following documents when you go into an RBC branch to meet an RBC Healthcare Specialist

Students:

  • Confirmation that you are enrolled at an eligible Canadian Medical or Dental educational institution

    The following can be used as confirmation of enrolment:
  • Invoice or receipt of payment for tuition
  • Proof of enrolment letter from the Registrar’s Office
  • Acceptance letter that includes proof of payment for tuition deposit
  • Printout from the Registrar’s Office website
  • A list of your financial resources (for example, RESPs, scholarships/bursaries, government funding, summer employment, etc.)

  • Letter of employment and/or enrolment confirmation from the residency hospital or the Canadian Medical Resident Program

To be considered an eligible student, proof of enrolment in an eligible medical or dental program at the post-secondary level, upon the completion of which program the student will receive a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), will be required.

Access to your total credit limit depends on how much credit you qualify for and accept. You will be given access to a portion of that total amount in each year of study over the course of your program, with additional funds (up to your total credit limit) made available to you each year when you provide proof of enrolment confirming that you have progressed to your next year of study. Students studying in Canada with a Medical/Dental Royal Credit Line continue to have access to their line of credit after graduation as they do not go into repayment. Students studying outside of Canada who wish to have continued access to their Royal Credit Line will be required to reapply.
