Spring 2022 Student Offer - Terms & Conditions
“Eligible Personal Banking Account” means an RBC Advantage Banking for students account
“Eligible Student Client” means a client who:
- Resides in Canada;
- Does not have an existing Personal Banking Account with us;
- Never had a Personal Banking Account nor qualified for any of our offers related to opening a Personal Banking Account at any time during the Promotional Period or in the three-year period before the start of the Promotional Period;
- Qualifies to open an Eligible Personal Banking Account; and
- Is a full-time student.
NOTE: To be considered a full-time student, you must:
- Attend a primary or secondary school or be enrolled in a program at the post-secondary level at a college, university or other educational institution (whether in Canada or not); if you are a post-secondary student, you must take at least 60% of the usual course load for the program in which you are enrolled in any particular semester; and
- Identify yourself to us as a full-time student at the time of account opening and have your anticipated graduation date recorded in our systems.
NOTE: Proof of enrollment may be requested of any student at our discretion, and students who are 25 years of age and older must provide proof of enrollment.
“Open Account By Date” means the date of June 30, 2022, by which date you are required to open an Eligible Personal Banking Account as a full-time student (as described above) in order to qualify for the Promotional Offer;
“Personal Banking Account” means any of the following accounts: RBC Day to Day Banking®, RBC No Limit Banking®, RBC Student Banking®, RBC Leo’s Young Savers Account®, RateLink Preference®, RateLink Essential®, RateLink Essential - Sixty Plus®, Sixty Plus - Signature Plus®, Sixty Plus - Royal Money Maker®, Sixty Plus - Calculator Plus®, RBC VIP Banking®, RBC Signature No Limit Banking®, RBC No Limit Banking for Students®, or RBC Advantage Banking™;
“Primary Owner” means the person you select or we designate as the primary owner of a jointly-held Personal Banking Account;
“Promotional Offer” means the offer as defined in Section 1 of these Terms;
“Promotional Period” means the period starting on April 19, 2022 and ending at 9:00 PM Eastern Time on the Open Account By Date of June 30, 2022;
“Qualifying Criteria” means the conditions set out in Section 2 of these Terms;
“Qualify By Date” means the date of August 25, 2022 at 9:00 PM Eastern Time by which you are required to complete the Qualifying Criteria in order to qualify for the Promotional Offer;
“RBC Employees” means all our employees and pensioners.
“Redemption Email” has the meaning set out in Section 3 Paragraph e.
“Redemption Instructions” has the meaning set out in Section 3 Paragraph e.
“Terms” mean these terms and conditions that govern this Promotional Offer;
“you” and “your” mean the Eligible Student Client selected by us to whom we extend the Promotional Offer;
“we”,“us”,“our” and “Royal Bank” mean Royal Bank of Canada or any of its deposit taking subsidiaries.

The Promotional Offer:
Provided you fulfill the conditions set out in Sections 2 and 3 below, you may earn the following:
A one-time, single-use, non-transferable Live Nation Concert Cash code ("Code") that may be applied to reduce by up to $75 the total purchase price of one (1) ticket-purchase transaction at ticketmaster.ca/75rbc, to one or more Live Nation produced and promoted event(s) in Canada.
(hereinafter, the “Promotional Offer”)
PLEASE NOTE, IN PARTICULAR, THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS WHICH APPLY TO THE PROMOTIONAL OFFER AND/OR TO THE CODE, AS RELEVANT:
- We will notify you, by way of the Redemption Email (as more particularly described below), when you have fulfilled the Qualifying Criteria and qualified to receive the Code. This Redemption Email will be sent, at any time up to 8 weeks after all Qualifying Criteria have been completed, to the email address we have recorded in your client profile, and you are responsible for ensuring that your email address is correct and current in your client profile. The Redemption Email will contain a link to a webpage containing the Redemption Instructions (as more particularly described below) for how to obtain your unique Code through RBC Online Banking. You must follow the Redemption Instructions in order to obtain the Code. (See Section 3 Paragraph e. for additional details.)
- This Promotional Offer is provided and administered by RBC. However, the Code and your use of the Code, as well as any ticket-purchase transaction through Live Nation or Ticketmaster that you make, are subject to additional terms and conditions from Live Nation and/or Ticketmaster, as further described below.
- Code use/redemption is subject to Live Nation’s Code Terms, available online at Live Nation Concert Cash Code Terms of Use.
- Subject to Live Nation’s Code Terms, Codes are redeemable only on the website located at ticketmaster.ca/75rbc.
- Each Code is a one-time-use-only promotional code provided by Live Nation and good toward $75 off the final ticket-purchase price for one or more select Live Nation produced and promoted concert(s) or event(s) in Canada ticketed on ticketmaster.ca/75rbc, based on availability under the Concert Cash program.
- Codes cannot be used toward VIP Nation, TicketsNow or events not ticketed by Live Nation, fan clubs, ticket packages, gift cards, merchandise, credits or shipping charges. Additional exclusions may apply to TM+, Platinum, Fan-to-Fan Resale, TicketExchange by Ticketmaster, events at AEG venues and tickets not sold directly by Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
- All ticket purchases are subject to the Live Nation Purchase Policy. Codes must be redeemed with an eligible ticket-purchase transaction by 11:59 PM PST on April 30, 2023. A Code can be used only once. A maximum of one (1) Code may be applied per ticket-purchase transaction. (For added clarity, a transaction may include the purchase of tickets to multiple eligible events, but the Code may only be use in one (1) such transaction.)
- Codes are void if not obtained through authorized, legitimate channels, or if any part is defective, altered, duplicated, photocopied, forged, counterfeited, mutilated or tampered with in any way, or if Codes contain or are the result of a printing, seeding, typographical, mechanical or other error(s), or do not contain proper security devices (each an “irregular Code”). Any attempt to obtain or generate multiple Codes and/or irregular Codes and/or to use multiple names, email addresses, phone numbers and/or any fraudulent or other non-permissible mechanisms to obtain Codes, as determined by Live Nation in its sole discretion, shall give Live Nation and/or RBC the right to disqualify the user of any such Code, even if such user is an Eligible Client and has otherwise met the criteria of this Promotional Offer. Codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit, except as required by law. Codes cannot be sold or bought and will be void if sold or exchanged for compensation. Any unused value will be forfeited. Codes cannot be combined with other product offers or promotions. Ticket(s) purchased with a Code may be for personal use or gifts only and are not valid for resale. Codes cannot be used for past purchases or offers. Use of a Code for unauthorized advertising, marketing or other promotional purposes is strictly prohibited.
- Codes cannot be replaced if lost or stolen and Live Nation is not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from unauthorized use of a Code.
- Codes are void where prohibited by law.
- If a Code is used in violation of these Terms, Live Nation reserves the right to (a) cancel any ticket order, or (b) charge user’s credit card for the value of tickets after shipment. Once tickets are issued, they cannot be exchanged for other tickets or merchandise.
- Live Nation Canada, Inc., not Royal Bank of Canada, is entirely responsible for the use/redemption of the Code.

How to qualify for the Promotional Offer:
To qualify for this Promotional Offer you must:
- be an Eligible Student Client; and
- open an Eligible Personal Banking Account during by the Open Account By Date; and
- At the time you open your Eligible Personal Banking Account, be identified in our systems as a full-time student with an anticipated graduation date; and
- complete at least two (2) of the following by the Qualify By Date using the Eligible Personal Banking Account opened to qualify for this Promotional Offer:
i. a minimum of one purchase transaction completed using any of the following: your RBC Client Card, an RBC Virtual Visa Debit card associated with your Eligible Personal Banking Account, Interac Flash, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay;
ii. a minimum of one (1) Interac e-Transfer using RBC Online Banking or the RBC Mobile app; or
iii. a minimum of one (1) mobile cheque deposit using the RBC Mobile app;
NOTE: Transactions carried out at an RBC Royal Bank branch or through the RBC Royal Bank ATM network, and bank fee transactions, are not included as qualifying transactions for the purpose of this Section 2 Paragraph d. Additionally, you will be required to register for RBC Online Banking and/or to download and register for the RBC Mobile app (as relevant) should you choose the transaction types described in items ii. or iii. (above) of this Section 2 Paragraphs d.

Additional Conditions that apply to the Promotional Offer:
The following conditions also apply to this Promotional Offer:
- The Promotional Offer is available to Eligible Student Clients only.
- RBC Employees are not eligible to participate in the Promotional Offer. However, if an RBC Employee is a co-owner of a jointly-held Eligible Personal Banking Account, the Promotional Offer may still be earned, provided all conditions noted in these Terms are fulfilled by the other co-owner(s) of the jointly-held Eligible Personal Banking Account who is/are not RBC Employees;
- Only one Promotional Offer is available per Eligible Student Client, no matter how many Eligible Personal Banking Accounts you may open during the Promotional Period;
- Only one Promotional Offer is available per Eligible Personal Banking Account, even if the Eligible Personal Banking Account is opened jointly with another co-owner and the Qualifying Criteria are fulfilled by more than one co-owner. In this case, only the co-owner designated as the Primary Owner at the time of opening of the jointly-held Eligible Personal Banking Account will qualify for the Promotional Offer.
- An Eligible Student Client who qualifies for the Promotional Offer and fulfills the Qualifying Criteria and meets all other conditions of these Terms will receive an email from us (the “Redemption Email”) no later than 8 weeks from the date of fulfilling the Qualifying Criteria, containing a link to a webpage, which webpage will contain instructions on how the Code is to be obtained through RBC Online Banking and used thereafter (the “Redemption Instructions”). Therefore, in order to redeem the benefit of this Promotional Offer, you must (i) provide us with a valid and deliverable email address prior to completing the Qualifying Criteria, and (ii) you must enroll in RBC Online Banking in order to complete the steps outlined in the Redemption Instructions. By participating in this Promotional Offer, you consent to us sending you the Redemption Email and all other communications associated with this Promotional Offer. We will not be held responsible in the event that you fail to provide us a valid and deliverable email address or the Redemption Email is incapable of being delivered to the email address you have provided to us and you do not receive the Code as a consequence, nor in the event that you fail to complete any of the Redemption Instructions (including but not limited to registering for RBC Online Banking). We are not required to provide or attempt to provide the Redemption Instructions to you by any other means.
- We may, but in no event are we required to, follow up in a manner of our choosing with Eligible Student Clients who have opened an Eligible Personal Banking Account during the Promotional Period with a reminder(s):
- To complete the Qualifying Criteria before the Qualify By Date;
- To obtain and/or redeem the Code following the completion of the Qualifying Criteria.
- Your Eligible Personal Banking Account must remain open and in good standing (as determined by us in our sole discretion), and the Qualifying Criteria you performed to obtain the Promotional Offer must not be reversed for at least 365 days from the Qualify By Date.
- If you received the Promotional Offer and then downgraded, changed or closed your Eligible Personal Banking Account at any time prior to 365 days from the Qualify By Date (including but not limited to by virtue of no longer qualifying for an Eligible Personal Banking Account), we reserve the right to debit your Eligible Personal Banking Account or any of your accounts with us for the value of the Promotional Offer amount, as may be reasonably determined by us, even if this places your account(s) into overdraft. If your Eligible Personal Banking Account is closed and you do not have any other account with us at that time, we may send you an invoice for the equivalent dollar value amount of the Co Code included with the Promotional Offer that was redeemed by you, which amount you agree to pay to us within 30 days of receipt.
- You have until September 22, 2022 to notify us if you believe you have qualified for but not received your Promotional Offer. We may examine your transactions and other account activity in our records to determine whether you have qualified to receive the Promotional Offer. However, any notice received after this date will not be accepted and you will be deemed not to have qualified for this Promotional Offer.
- If you are not satisfied with your Eligible Personal Banking Account and switch to another account, our Right Account GuaranteeTM may apply, provided you satisfy the underlying conditions. If you benefit from the Right Account Guarantee, we still reserve the right to reverse the value of the Promotional Offer amount, as more fully described in sub-section h) above. Additional Conditions that apply to all Promotional Offers
- The Promotional Offer and these Terms do not, in any way, affect any of the service fees related to the operation of any of our Personal Banking Accounts, credit card accounts and business banking accounts, which continue to apply.
- The Promotional Offer shall not be combined with any other offer or promotion related to our Personal Banking Accounts
- We reserve the right to change the Promotional Offer and these Terms at any time. The posting of the current Terms at rbc.com/offerterms75 shall be deemed sufficient notice to you of such Terms and any changes, if required.

Limitations that apply to all Promotional Offers
- We reserve the right to cancel the Promotional Offer at any time for any reason at our sole discretion without notice.
- In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the content of any document, brochure or promotional material advertising the Promotional Offer, these Terms shall prevail. You may always view the current Terms by visiting rbc.com/offerterms75 or you may call 1-800-769-2511 to request a current copy.
- We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend, disqualify, limit or revoke this Promotional Offer to any person or account holder we find or believe to be manipulating or otherwise abusing the process, fairness, integrity or operation of the Promotional Offer, including any person whose overall client relationship with us is in our opinion not in good standing.
Live Nation Canada, Inc. (“Live Nation”) is not a Sponsor of this Promotional Offer and is in no way responsible for the administration of the Promotional Offer. All inquiries regarding this Promotional Offer (including but not limited to Eligible Personal Banking Accounts, the Qualifying Criteria, conditions and limitations of the Promotional Offer) should be directed to RBC; however, inquiries related to redemption of the Code, eligible Live Nation events for which the Code may be redeemed, etc. should be directed to Live Nation.
