MyAdvisor Terms and Conditions

Reading and Accepting the Terms. How the Terms apply to you.
The Terms and conditions (Terms) govern your use of the MyAdvisor platform (MyAdvisor), and are a legally binding agreement between you and the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC, we, our, us). Please see the Definitions section at the end of Part 1 - General Terms for any capitalized terms not otherwise defined.
To understand how Royal Bank of Canada collects, uses and shares your personal information, please see the Collection and Use of Personal Information section.
The Terms have four (4) parts:
- General Terms: Part 1 applies to all MyAdvisor users. It contains descriptions of the Services, terms regarding the collection and use your personal information, instructions regarding your use of MyAdvisor and the Services, and general contractual terms, including limitations of liability. Part 1 includes additional details on how we will communicate with you.
- Aggregation Service: Part 2 applies if you use the Aggregation Service, and sets out applicable terms and conditions, including those regarding the collection and use of your Aggregation Information.
- Sponsor Pension Plans: Part 3 applies only to members of a Sponsor Pension Plan for which the Sponsor has given you access to Sponsor Pension Plan Information through MyAdvisor. Part 3 includes additional privacy terms.
- RBC Employees: Part 4 applies only to RBC Employees who choose to include their RBC Employee Information. Part 4 includes additional privacy terms.
Where applicable, the Terms apply together with the RBC Electronic Access Agreement (opens new window) (EAA). In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between provisions contained in the Terms and provisions in any other agreement, provisions contained in the Terms will govern and control. Absent an express change, the Terms do not change any other agreement you have with us, including the EAA, your privacy consents or preferences, and RBC’s applicable policies.
Please read the Terms and then click “Accept” to confirm your acceptance. You cannot use MyAdvisor unless you have accepted the Terms. Please click “Cancel” if you do not agree. You can download a copy of the Terms using the download button on-screen. A copy will also always be available in the footer of MyAdvisor’s webpages.
PART 1 | GENERAL TERMS
Privacy. Collection and use of personal information
This Privacy section applies to all users of MyAdvisor. If you are a member of a Sponsor Pension Plan or an RBC Employee, please also read the Privacy sections contained in Part 3 (Sponsor Pension Plans) and Part 4 (RBC Employees), where applicable.
Consent to collect information. You authorize us to collect, use and disclose your personal information, and information provided when you register and use MyAdvisor and the Services.
You also authorize us to access and retrieve your Aggregation Information (account type, number and balance, and transaction information) for display in the Aggregation Service any time you access MyAdvisor and on a periodic basis. You acknowledge that certain Aggregation Information collected from Aggregated Accounts may not be displayed in MyAdvisor. Only the Aggregation Information necessary to deliver the Services will be displayed.
Use of your information. We may use your personal information, including where applicable your Aggregation Information, Sponsor Pension Plan Information, and RBC Employee Information, for any purpose in connection with or relating to MyAdvisor and the Services, and assessing, evaluating and reporting on them, including:
- to verify your identity;
- to provide you with products and services you may request, including MyAdvisor and the Services;
- to determine your eligibility for MyAdvisor and other products and services;
- to help us better understand the current and future needs of MyAdvisor users and our clients;
- to communicate to you any benefit, feature and other information about services you have with us;
- to help us better manage our business and your relationship with us; and as required or permitted by law.
We may share this information with our employees, our agents and our Third Party Service Providers. In the event a Third Party Service Provider is located outside of Canada, it is bound by, and information may be disclosed in accordance with, the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is located.
Your personal information may be transmitted through, stored, or processed in countries or provinces other than your home jurisdiction, in which case the information is bound by the laws of those jurisdictions and may be disclosed in accordance with those laws. We will take measures to protect your personal information with appropriate contract clauses or other applicable safeguards.
If you stop using the Aggregation Service, your Aggregation Information will be stored for 7 years and will then be destroyed.
For members of a Sponsor Pension Plan, please read the Privacy section of Part 3 (Sponsor Pension Plans) regarding additional uses of your personal information, including your Sponsor Pension Plan Information.
We may use automated processing to make decisions about you, including credit and loan adjudication, where applicable.
Social Insurance Number. If we have your social insurance number, we may use it for tax related purposes if you hold a product generating income and share it with the appropriate government agencies, and we may also share it with credit reporting agencies as an aid to identify you.
Right to access your personal information. You may review the information we hold about you at any time and review its content and accuracy, and have it amended as appropriate; however, access may be restricted as permitted or required by law. To request access to such information, to learn more about our use of automated processing, to ask questions about our privacy policies or to request that the information not be used for any or all of the purposes outlined in Other uses of your personal information you may do so now or at any time in the future by:
(i) contacting your branch, (ii) calling us toll free at 1-800-769-2511.
Our privacy notices
All collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information will be in accordance with our Global Privacy Notice and Digital Channel Privacy (available at www.rbc.com/privacysecurity), which form part of these terms.

Services. The functionality and content available in MyAdvisor.
The Services mean the features, functionality, content and information available in MyAdvisor, set out below:

Digital Dashboard. Using your Aggregation Information, Sponsor Pension Plan Information, and RBC Employee Information, where applicable, the Digital Dashboard provides visual representations (charts and graphs) of your retirement readiness, net worth, cash flow, and life goal tracking. You will also be able to see how varying your approach would affect your savings and goals. The Digital Dashboard will collect and use your personal information differently depending on your use of MyAdvisor and the Services:
Aggregation Information: Used when you add Aggregated Accounts using the Aggregation Services.
Sponsor Pension Plan Information: Used if you are a member of a Sponsor Pension Plan, and your employer (Sponsor) gives you access to your Sponsor Pension Plan Information through MyAdvisor.
RBC Employee Information: Used if you are an RBC Employee, and you consent to the inclusion of your RBC Employee Information. More specifically, if you are new to MyAdvisor, your Digital Dashboard will initially include information about your retirement readiness only. If you already use MyAdvisor, or you choose to add net worth, cash flow and life goal tracking to your Digital Dashboard, your Aggregation Information and RBC Employment Information will be disclosed to and used by RBC.

Aggregation Service. The Aggregation Service collects, combines and displays Aggregation Information and your RBC Employee Information, if applicable, so that you can view all of your finances and retirement information in one place. For details of what Aggregation Information and RBC Employee Information include, please see the Definitions section below. To use the Aggregation Service you must activate it through MyAdvisor.

Advisor Feature. The Advisor Feature enables you to book an appointment with an RBC advisor, to meet with your advisor using video chat or phone, and to open new accounts.
If you choose to use the Advice Feature your personal information (your Aggregation Information, Pension Information, and RBC Employee Information, where applicable) will be disclosed to and used by RBC and its affiliated entities. - Document Centre. The Document Centre contains all of your accepted MyAdvisor documents and account agreements, which you can review and download at any time.

Resources Centre. Within MyAdvisor, you can access resources and learning materials about retirement planning and financial products.
The Resources Centre is not financial or professional advice, and any information or content the Resources Centre contains is provided solely for informational purposes. For financial advice, please speak to an RBC advisor or another appropriate professional. On-screen disclosures also apply.
Some of the Services may be provided in whole or in part by Third Party Service Providers. The Services are available in English and French, despite any language settings on your Device. The Services and MyAdvisor may not be accessible at all times. In addition, functionality, features content or information may change, and may not always be available.
Communication. We will use email to contact each other.
Email is the primary method of communication used for MyAdvisor and the Services, and the email address(es) you provide through MyAdvisor will be used for all correspondence, including notifications. It is your responsibility to keep your email address(es) up to date. You understand that if you do not keep your email address(es) current, we may not be able to contact you.
Fees. No Fees for MyAdvisor.
No Services or MyAdvisor Fees. There are no fees to access MyAdvisor or to use the Services. If fees are introduced, we will provide you with notice in accordance the Communication section of the Terms. All amounts are expressed in Canadian dollars.
Device Fees. You are responsible for all costs, fees, data plans and related charges associated with your use of Device(s), and they are not reimbursable by us.
Changes and Termination. Advising you of changes and termination
Changes: We can change (add, remove or alter) any part the Services, without giving you notice. Following any change, the Terms will continue to apply to all parts of the Services. We can also change the Terms by giving you notice of the changes, before or after the changes take effect. If you use MyAdvisor or access the Services after a change to the Terms, or after we have notified you of a change, you are deemed to have reviewed and accepted the new version of the Terms.
Termination by us: With or without prior notice, we can suspend or terminate your use of MyAdvisor and access to the Services and/or terminate part or all of the Terms for the following reasons: (i) any actual or intended violation of the Terms, (ii) any unlawful or inappropriate behavior, as determined by us, or (iii) a decision, at our sole discretion, to stop providing MyAdvisor and the Services. We will not be responsible for any loss or inconvenience that may result in such suspension or termination.
Termination by you: To terminate your use of MyAdvisor and the Services, please select “opt-out” on your Profile page in MyAdvisor.
Compliance & Prohibitions. Appropriate use of MyAdvisor.
Your use of MyAdvisor and the Services must comply with the Terms and all applicable laws. When using MyAdvisor and the Services, you will not:
- Use MyAdvisor or access a Service(s) for any illegal, fraudulent, malicious or defamatory activity or purpose;
- Use any robot, spider or other indexing device when using MyAdvisor or accessing the Services;
- Use any part of the Services to provide internet, service bureau, outsourcing or third-party services or redistribute all or any part of the Services;
- Take steps or actions that could or do undermine the security, integrity, effectiveness, goodwill or connectivity of MyAdvisor or the Services (including illegal, fraudulent, malicious, defamatory or other activities that threaten to harm or cause harm to any other person); or
- Reverse engineer or reverse compile the source code for MyAdvisor or any of the service technology.
Security. Your responsibilities in keeping your information safe.
You are responsible for keeping your Sign-In Credentials confidential, and you must not disclose them to anyone. We will not be responsible for any losses that may result if you share or lose your Sign-In Credentials. When using MyAdvisor and accessing the Services, you agree that you will take all steps necessary to ensure that you do not reveal any confidential information to anyone other than us. This includes making sure that other people cannot see your Device screen.
You must also:
- Sign out after each session to prevent anyone else from accessing MyAdvisor and the Services. If you do not sign out of MyAdvisor, you will remain signed in for 15 minutes after which your session will timeout and you will need to sign in again to access MyAdvisor and the Services.
- Not leave your Device unattended while signed in to MyAdvisor and you must use reasonable steps and precautions to protect your Device against loss or theft;
- Use reasonable security measures which include up-to-date virus scanning software and a firewall system, if such security measures are available for your Device; and
- Comply with any additional security requirements that we may require in connection with the Services.
Third Party Service Providers. Other entities help us provide the Services.
We may use Third Party Service Providers to provide or to assist us in providing the Services, and other than our subsidiaries and affiliates, we are not affiliated or associated with any Third Party Service Provider.
When using MyAdvisor and accessing the Services,
- You may use Third Party Service Provider Services solely for your own personal use;
- You may not sell, distribute or otherwise use Third Party Service Provider Services or other information from MyAdvisor or the Services, and you may not permit such distribution or use by anyone else; and
- You may not provide or make available any Third Party Service Provider Services to any provider of products or services similar to those products and services provided by the Third Party Service Providers.
You understand and agree that Third Party Service Provider Services and Third Party Content are provided “as is”. Third Party Service Providers do not guarantee the correctness of, and make no representations or warranties regarding, the Third Party Service Provider Services and Third Party Content. Third Party Service Providers will not be liable for any losses or damages (including without limitation, any indirect or consequential damages) caused by use of the Third Party Service Provider Services or errors or interruptions in the transmission of the Third Party Service Provider Services.
Third Party Service Providers retain all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights, in Third Party Content and their trademarks and logos that appear on MyAdvisor and in the Services. Nothing in the Terms, MyAdvisor or the Services should be interpreted as conferring any right for you (i) to use Third Party Service Provider Services in any way other than as expressly permitted in the Terms, or (ii) to use any Third Party Service Provider trademarks or logos.
You agree that we and Third Party Service Providers may use information and content you provide through MyAdvisor and the Services to create use and distribute statistical, profiling, performance or operational reports about MyAdvisor and the Services. These reports may be shared with third parties, in which case, the information in the reports will not be attributable to you.
In no event, even if a Third Party Service Provider is negligent, will the Third Party Service be liable to you for any losses or damages caused by or in any way related to MyAdvisor and the Services. Such losses or damages include without limitation (i) direct, incidental, indirect, consequential, special, aggravated, punitive or exemplary damages, (ii) loss of data, profits, information, opportunity, revenues and goodwill, and (iii) any other business interruption, commercial or economic losses. You agree to release, discharge and hold Third Party Service Providers harmless from any and all claims, losses, damages, obligations, or liabilities, directly or indirectly relating from your use of the Third Party Service Provider Services.
Intellectual Property. You can use MyAdvisor, but we own it.
We grant you a non-exclusive and non-transferable single-user (non-concurrent) license to use MyAdvisor, in accordance with the Terms. At any time, and at our sole discretion, we may restrict or terminate your ability to access MyAdvisor, and with notice to you, we may end the terms relating to MyAdvisor. If the Terms are terminated, you will destroy or return all copies of MyAdvisor or of any documentation for it then in your possession. The grant of this license may not be assigned by you unless agreed upon in writing by us.
We retain at all times all ownership rights, including without limitation, copyright, in MyAdvisor. You agree not to copy, reproduce, transfer copies or reverse engineer MyAdvisor and not to disclose or distribute MyAdvisor to third parties. We have no obligation to provide any training, maintenance, or other assistance for MyAdvisor. We are the owner of all intellectual property rights subsisting on each screen made available through MyAdvisor. Unless otherwise indicated, trademarks and logos, and all works, including texts, images, illustrations, software, HTML codes, audio clips and videos appearing on the Services are our property and without our express written permission, may not be reproduced, republished, downloaded, posted, transmitted, distributed or modified, in whole or in part, in any form whatsoever, except for personal and non-commercial use, including viewing, printing or archiving of electronic copies of your MyAdvisor activities, in accordance with the Terms and as we may further instruct you. Nothing in the Terms or on MyAdvisor is to be interpreted as conferring a right to use our works, trademarks or logos in any other way.
No Representations or Warranties. MyAdvisor comes “as is”.
We are providing you with MyAdvisor and the Services on an “as is” and “as available” basis and do not make any representations or provide any warranties concerning them. Without limiting the foregoing, we expressly disclaim all warranties, with respect to MyAdvisor and/or the Services. You are solely responsible for taking appropriate precautions relating to the use and safety of your Device and we are not responsible for any damage caused to you or your Device as a result of your use of MyAdvisor or access to the Services. We are not responsible for any breach of contract between you and any third party. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, we are not liable for any breach by you of (1) any agreement with the manufacturer of your Device or its operating system; (2) the terms and conditions related to the applications and software you download and/or install on your Device and (3) the terms and conditions of a Third Party Service Provider or any other service used or accessed in connection with your use of your Device.
Liabilities and Indemnities. Read this carefully—it limits your right to sue us.
You are solely responsible for all information or content that you give us through MyAdvisor and the Services.
In addition to the limitation of liability in Part 2 (Aggregation Service), we will not be responsible for any loss, harm, injury, damage, delay or inconvenience suffered or incurred by you with respect to: (i) the Terms, MyAdvisor or the Services, or (ii) any instruction given to, by or purported to be given by you, using Sign-In Credentials, in connection with the Services.
In no event, even if we are negligent, will we be liable for any losses or damages caused by or in any way related to MyAdvisor and the Services. Such losses or damages include without limitation (i) direct, incidental, indirect, consequential, special, aggravated, punitive or exemplary damages, (ii) loss of data, profits, information, opportunity, revenues and goodwill, and (iii) any other business interruption, commercial or economic losses. Such limitation of liability applies regardless of the cause of action, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages
In addition, in no event, even if we are negligent, will we be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you that is caused by:
- The actions of, or any failure to act by a Third Party Service Provider;
- Mistakes, errors, omissions, inaccuracies or other inadequacies of, or contained in the Services or any data given by you to us or any Third Party Service Provider, including your failure to update;
- Any delay, error, interruption or failure by us or any Third Party Service Provider to perform or fulfill any of our obligations to you due to any cause beyond our control, any system malfunctions or any technical failures;
- Unsecured communication being inaccurate, intercepted, reviewed or altered by others, or not received by you.
- Your access to the Services, including, without limitation, any delay or inability to access the Services;
- Your failure to receive or view any communication that has been presented to you, and we will not be responsible for any delay, damage or inconvenience that such failure may cause; or
- Your failure to fulfill any of your obligations under the Terms, including those in the “Security” section of the Terms, or to comply with any instructions we may provide to you from time to time in connection with MyAdvisor and the Services.
In addition to the indemnity contained in Part 2 (Aggregation Service), and except with respect to claims, costs and liabilities arising because of our negligence, you will release and indemnify us and any other person for any claim, cost and liability incurred as a result of (i) your use of MyAdvisor and access to the Services, or (ii) or your breach of the Terms.
Digital Contract Terms. The legal effects of digital terms and how they apply.
Decisions made when you are signed in are binding. You will be required to use Sign-In Credentials to access MyAdvisor and the Services. You authorize us to accept and you agree to be responsible for any instruction given by you or purported to be given by you using your Sign-In Credentials. Any instruction will have the same legal effect as if it was a written instruction and signed by you.
On-Screen Terms form part of the Terms. There may be terms, conditions, instructions or disclaimers (for the purpose of this paragraph, “On-screen Terms”) related to the Services displayed on-screen in MyAdvisor, or when you click on icons or links in MyAdvisor. You must access On-Screen Terms, and by using or accessing MyAdvisor or a Service you agree that the On-Screen Terms apply to your use of MyAdvisor or the applicable Service(s), in addition to the terms and conditions of any other applicable agreements.
Clicking = signing with a pen on paper. The Terms and any related terms, conditions, instructions, disclaimers or documents may be accepted in electronic form and your acceptance is binding between you and us. Neither you nor we will contest the validity or enforceability of the Terms and any related documents because they were accepted or signed in electronic form.
Electronic records = paper records. Our records, including electronic records, including those of any Third Party Service Providers (whether used by them or us), regarding MyAdvisor or the Services, including the retrieval, consolidation, organization and presentment or information, are final and conclusive. These records will be admissible in any legal, administrative or other proceedings. Furthermore, electronic data and records will be admissible as conclusive evidence of the contents of those records in the same manner as original paper documents. You waive any right to object to the introduction of any such electronic data or records into evidence.
Severability. If any provision of the Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this will not affect the validity or enforceability of the other provisions of the Terms. Our failure to enforce strict performance of any provisions of the Terms does not mean we have waived any provision or right. Neither the course of conduct between you and us, nor trade practice modifies any provision of the Terms. We may assign or transfer the Terms on notice to you. You may not assign or transfer the Terms or any of its obligations or rights hereunder to any other person.
Governing Law. What law applies?
The Terms are governed by the laws of the Province or Territory in Canada in which you live and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. If you live outside of Canada, the Terms will be exclusively governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. You and we agree that the courts of the jurisdiction specified above shall have exclusive jurisdiction over each of us for the determination of any matter(s) arising out of the Terms.
Defined Terms. Definitions for capitalized terms.
The capitalized definitions not otherwise defined in the Terms are set out below. To the extent that a definition in the Terms conflicts with a definition in the EAA, the two definitions shall be read together, failing which the definition(s) in the Terms shall govern.
Account Provider means RBC or a Non-RBC Account Provider.
Aggregated Account means an Available Account that you choose to be viewed via the Aggregation Service.
Aggregation Information means account type, account number, and balance and transaction information regarding an Aggregated Account.
Aggregation Service means our account aggregation feature in MyAdvisor, as described in the Services section.
Available Accounts means accounts held with Account Providers which we allow you to view via the Aggregation Service and use for the purpose of the Services. For the purpose of the Terms, Available Accounts includes RBC Employee Accounts.
Device means any mobile device, computer or other device you use to access MyAdvisor and the Services.
EAA means the RBC Electronic Access Agreement.
Log-In Information means any information that you must enter to access an Aggregated Account. It may include a client identification number, username, access code, password or other means of identification.
Non-RBC Account Provider means any third party with which you have an Aggregated Account.
RBC (we, us and our) means Royal Bank of Canada.
RBC Account(s) means any available account held with RBC accessed using RBC’s online and mobile banking services.
RBC Company(ies) means RBC and our subsidiaries and affiliates.
RBC Employee means employees of RBC and RBC Companies eligible to participate in the RBC Retirement Program and/or Savings Program.
RBC Employee Account means RBC Employee accounts held with Sun Life Financial as part of the RBC Retirement Program and/or Savings Program.
RBC Employee Information means information contained in RBC’s internal systems regarding RBC Employees, including employee name and ID, date of birth, business email address, marital status, spouse date of birth, compensation, desired retirement age, and projected pension amounts at desired retirement age. It also includes account and transaction information regarding your RBC Employee Account(s).
Services means the features and functionality set out in the Services section of the Terms.
Sign-In Credentials means usernames, passwords, personal verification questions or other information required to access MyAdvisor and the Services.
Sponsor means your employer who has entered into a Sponsor Services Agreement with RBC.
Sponsor Access Agreement means the portal access agreement entered into by the Sponsor and RBC.
Sponsor Pension Plan means the defined contribution pension plan of the Sponsor in respect of which Royal Bank has entered into the Sponsor Services Agreement with the Sponsor. A Sponsor Pension Plan does not include RBC Retirement Program and/or Savings Program.
Sponsor Pension Plan Information means information provided to us by a Sponsor regarding a Sponsor Pension Plan, and information from you regarding a Sponsor Pension Plan, including information regarding your designated beneficiaries.
Sponsor Services Agreement means the registered pension plan services agreement entered into by the Sponsor and RBC.
Terms means the Terms and conditions.
Third Party Content means content and information contained in the Services provided by any Third Party Service Provider.
Third Party Service Provider means a party retained by us to act on our behalf to provide, or to assist us in providing, MyAdvisor and the Services.
Third Party Service Provider Services means content and information contained in the Services provided by any Third Party Service Provider, including any Third Party Content.
You and your mean the person who uses a Device to access the Services through MyAdvisor.
PART 2 | AGGREGATION SERVICE
If you choose to use the Aggregation Service, the following terms will apply.
Log-in Information. To access Aggregated Accounts, you must input your Log-in Information for each Aggregated Account, as directed in MyAdvisor. Your Log-Information will be stored in encrypted form, and will be used to retrieve your Aggregation Information in order to deliver the Aggregation Services. You must update your Log-in Information as soon as it changes so we can retrieve your Aggregation Information.
Access to Aggregated Accounts. You authorize and direct us and/or a Third Party Service Provider of the Aggregation Service (for the purposes of this section, "we" or "us") to do, on your behalf, all things necessary to provide the Aggregation Service to you and to retrieve, consolidate, organize and present Aggregation Information to you, which may include visiting the website of an Account Provider and providing your Log-in Information or other information required to register, access, retrieve and download Aggregation Information. You confirm to us you have the right to give us this authorization and direction.
You authorize and direct an automatic login to your Aggregated Accounts using the Log-in Information supplied during Aggregated Account set-up to retrieve the balance details for display in the Aggregation Service any time you access your information in MyAdvisor and on a periodic basis.
Changes to Available Accounts. We can add or remove Available Accounts at any time.
Your Aggregation Information. You may terminate the collection of your Aggregation Information for an Aggregated Account by removing the Aggregated Account from display in the Aggregation Service at any time.
You understand and agree that (i) Aggregation Information is prepared by Account Providers; (ii) we are not responsible for the timeliness, completeness or accuracy of Aggregation Information, other than Aggregation Information from Aggregated Accounts held with us; (iii) Aggregation Information continues to be subject to any terms or conditions imposed by Account Providers; and (iv) you must access the website or online service of the Account Provider to view any information or content, other than Aggregation Information, including any notices, disclosures or disclaimers.
You acknowledge and agree that we are entitled to rely on the foregoing authorizations and agency granted by you.
Account Providers. You acknowledge that when you use the Aggregation Service, Aggregation Information is accessed and retrieved on your behalf, and not on behalf of an Account Provider and that the Aggregation Service is not endorsed or sponsored by any Account Provider. You acknowledge that a Non-RBC Account Provider may not have consented to, and may not have knowledge of, the access to its accounts as Aggregated Accounts. It is your responsibility to review your agreements with Non-RBC Account Providers to determine whether disclosure to another party that offers electronic account aggregation services is allowed, what the consequences of such disclosure may be and your liability in connection with such disclosure.
Proprietary Rights. You are only permitted to use content delivered to you through the Aggregation Service in connection with it, and you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content.
Content You Provide. You are licensing to us any Information, data, passwords, materials or other content (collectively, "Content") you provide through or to the Aggregation Service. We may use, modify, display, distribute and create new material using such Content to provide the Aggregation Service to you. By submitting Content, you automatically agree, or promise that the owner of such Content has expressly agreed that, without any particular time limit and without the payment of any fees, we may use the Content in accordance with the Terms. You also agree that all Content you provide to us or the Third Party Service Provider is correct and complete, and to notifying us promptly of any changes to that Content.
Disclaimer of Warranties. You expressly understand and agree that your use of the Aggregation Service and all information, including Aggregation Information, products and other content (including that of third parties) included in or accessible from the Aggregation Service is at your sole risk, and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We expressly disclaim all warranties in connection with the Aggregation Service and all information, products and other content (including that of third parties) included in or accessible from the Aggregation Service, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from us through or from the Aggregation Service will create any warranty not expressly stated in the Terms. We do not provide tax, legal, or investment advice, or investment brokerage services through the Aggregation Service, and you may not rely on it for any such purpose. You are responsible for your choices in using any recommendations made in conjunction with the Aggregation Service or Aggregation Information.
Limitation of Liability. In addition to the Liabilities & Indemnities section found in Part 1 of the Terms, the following limitation of liability terms apply with respect to your use of the Aggregation Service:
- You agree that neither we nor any of our affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages, resulting from: (a) the use or the inability to use the Aggregation Service; (b) the cost of getting substitute goods and services, (c) any products, data, information or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into, through or from the Aggregation Service; (d) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (e) statements or conduct of anyone on the Aggregation Service; or (f) any other matter relating to the Aggregation Service.
- This bulleted subsection only applies if you have added a RBC Aggregated Account using the Aggregation Service. Notwithstanding bulleted paragraph immediately above, and Section 3 – Digital Banking and Other Services of the EAA, (i) you are permitted to share your Log-In Information for your RBC Aggregated Accounts in order to use the Aggregation Services; and (ii) if you share your Log-In Information for your RBC Aggregated Accounts when using the Aggregation Service, RBC will reimburse you for monetary losses to your RBC Accounts resulting directly from unauthorized transactions on your RBC Accounts. Any such reimbursement is subject to the details and limitations set out in the applicable sections of the EAA.
Indemnification. In addition to the indemnity contained in the Liabilities & Indemnities section found Part 1 of the Terms, you agree to protect and fully compensate us and our affiliates for any and all third party claims, liability, damages, expenses and costs (including, but not limited to, reasonable legal fees) caused by or arising from your use of the Aggregation Service, your violation of the Terms or your infringement, or infringement by any other user of your account, of any intellectual property or other right of any other party.
PART 3 | SPONSOR PENSION PLANS
The use of MyAdvisor and the Services is a condition of member enrollment in a Sponsor Pension Plan. If you are a member of a Sponsor Pension Plan, the following terms and conditions apply.
Fees
Access to MyAdvisor is included in the Administrative Services and Investment Management Fee for members of a Sponsor Pension Plan.
Privacy
Consent to collect Sponsor Pension Plan Information. Where applicable, you acknowledge and consent that a Sponsor, and its representatives and delegates (including RBC), may access information about you in order to administer the Sponsor Pension Plan, to deliver MyAdvisor and the Services, and for other purposes to which you have agreed, in accordance with any other agreements you have with (or consents given to) the Sponsor, its representatives and delegates.You also understand that the Sponsor and its representatives and delegates may access information about your spouse, and beneficiaries designated by you under the Sponsor Pension Plan, as specified in the Sponsor Pension Plan and applicable legislation, in order to administer the Sponsor Pension Plan. You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from any other individual prior to entering their personal information on MyAdvisor.
Your Sponsor Pension Plan Information will only be used for the purposes of delivering MyAdvisor and the Services, in accordance with the Terms, unless you consent expressly otherwise.
Other uses of your personal information.
In addition to the uses set out in the privacy section of Part 1 of the Terms, with your consent we may use your personal information, including your Sponsor Pension Plan Information, to promote our products and services, and promote products and services of third parties we select, which may be of interest to you. We may communicate with you through various channels, including telephone, computer or mail, using the contact information you have provided.
We may also, where not prohibited by law, share this information with RBC companies for the purpose of referring you to them or promoting to you products and services which may be of interest to you. We and RBC companies may communicate with you through various channels, including telephone, computer or mail, using the contact information you have provided. You acknowledge that as a result of such sharing they may advise us of those products or services provided.
If you also deal with RBC companies, we may, where not prohibited by law, consolidate this information with information they have about you to allow us and any of them to manage your relationship with RBC companies and our business.
Information Available
The information provided on MyAdvisor in respect of the Sponsor Pension Plan includes, but is not limited to, a member plan booklet, and investment fund fact sheets in order for you to inform yourself about the Sponsor Pension Plan and the investment options available to you.
No Investment, Legal, Financial or Other Advice
The information provided on MyAdvisor is not intended to provide or be complete investment, legal, financial or other advice. Many factors unknown to us, as well as your individual circumstances, may affect the applicability of any statement or comment on MyAdvisor. You should not act or rely on any information contained therein without consulting a professional advisor.
You acknowledge that we do not provide any investment advice or recommendations regarding the purchase or sale of any securities in your Sponsor Pension Plan, and therefore do not accept any responsibility for the suitability of any of your investment decisions or transactions. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions and any resulting profits or losses.
RBC provides access to your Sponsor Pension Plan information through MyAdvisor, but Sponsor Pension Plan assets are not held within RBC related companies. If you are a member of a Sponsor Pension Plan and you use the Advisor Feature, RBC advisors are not permitted to provide you with investment advice or recommendations regarding Sponsor Pension Plan investments.
If you choose to open an RBC investment account outside your employer’s Sponsor Pension Plan, investment advice is provided by Royal Mutual Funds Inc. (“RMFI”) and recommendations will relate only to the assets held within RBC related companies.
Electronic Communication.
You and we agree that communications between you and us, and any third party service provider acting on our behalf in the performance of the Services are necessary and requested. You and we expect and request to exchange electronic communication for such purposes.
Subject to applicable laws, you consent to receiving notices, information, documents and any communication relating to the Sponsor Pension Plan, including notices about contribution rates, investment options, and retirement account statement (Documents) in electronic form.
We will provide you with Documents in electronic form either:
- By sending emails with the Documents attached to the email address that we have on file for you; or
- By posting the Documents on MyAdvisor, and providing you with notification of the posting of such Documents by sending an email to the email address that we have on file for you.
It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to the contact information that we have on file for you.
During the time that you have agreed to receive Documents in electronic form, it is your responsibility to retain a copy of such Documents by printing or saving a copy while they are available for viewing. It is also your responsibility to review Documents promptly, and advise your Sponsor or us of any errors.
We may provide you with paper Documents if required by law, if we deem it appropriate, or if we are unable to provide you with them electronically.
Contributions
If applicable to your Sponsor Pension Plan, you will be able to use the Services to set optional contribution levels under the Sponsor Pension Plan. If you set a contribution level while using the Services, this in an instruction from you and you are authorizing your Sponsor to deduct your contribution from your earnings, and remit them to the Sponsor Pension Plan, in accordance with your instructions provided on MyAdvisor, as may be modified by you from time to time through MyAdvisor or as otherwise permitted.

Advisor Feature: Although you are under no obligation to use the Advisor Feature, we hope that you will try it. Financial advisory services are also available from other Canadian financial institutions.
Privacy
Consent to collect RBC Employee Information. Where applicable, you acknowledge and consent to your RBC Employee Information being transferred to MyAdvisor in order to provide you with MyAdvisor and the Services. Your RBC Employee Information will only be used for the purposes of delivering MyAdvisor and the Services, in accordance with the Terms, unless you consent expressly otherwise.
