Societal Challenges and Our Ambitions
Today’s common societal challenges across the Caribbean1 have the potential to threaten the long-term success of our clients, employees, shareholders and communities. We want to do our part by addressing these challenges with ideas that empower youth to lead a stronger Caribbean.
Educational inequality
Due to economic challenges, Caribbean countries are experiencing critical skill gaps and educational inequality, which is impacting youth employment opportunities.
Meaningful employment
Opportunities for youth to access training, work experience and networks connecting them to meaningful employment are limited, making it difficult to secure employment and build careers.
Health and climate resiliency
We need more social services to support physical and mental health. This support is strained by the region bearing a disproportionate amount of the impact of environmental crises, leaving fewer resources for other services.
Investing in skills development to maximize youth potential
RBC is committed to supporting programmes that help youth reach their full potential in areas such as sports, entrepreneurial skills, green education and creating better learning environments.
Providing youth with hands-on job experience
To help prepare youth for the changing workforce, RBC provides opportunities for mentorship, networking, training and internships, and offers other career resources.
Supporting healthy environments for youth
RBC employees are working with their communities to create healthier environments for youth and their families by supporting health services, local clean-ups and disaster relief efforts.
