International Wire Transfer

Send funds anywhere in the world quickly and securely via SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications.)

Wire transfers can be completed online through RBC Digital Banking, or by visiting a branch.

To send a wire transfer, you will need to provide us with the following information:

  • Your full account number, name and full physical address (Mailing addresses, such as PO Boxes and Rural Routes are not permitted). Note: When sending a Wire Transfer via Digital Banking, only your account needs to be selected.
  • The Beneficiary’s account number, name and full physical address (Mailing addresses, such as PO Boxes and Rural Routes are not permitted)
    • Complete IBAN required for beneficiaries holding accounts with a European or British bank
  • The Paying bank’s
    • SWIFT/BIC Code (preferred for all currencies) OR
    • ABA/Fedwire Routing Number(FW) for USA payments only (9 digits) along with full institution’s name, city and state
      • For Example – FW123456789
        • Bank Name
        • City, State OR
    • Sort Code (SC) for European Banks only (EUR/GBP) (6 digits) along with full institution’s name, city and country
      • For Example – SC123456
        • Bank Name
        • City, Country OR
    • Canadian Clearing Code (CC) for Canada payments only (9 digits) - 4 digit financial institution number followed by the 5-digit transit number, along with full financial institution’s name, city and state
      • For Example – CC123456789
        • Bank Name
        • City, State
  • Full/Complete Purpose of payment e.g. payment for goods invoice DE425, graduation gift, contribution to medical expenses

 

You can also receive money safely from anywhere in the world using our incoming wire transfer service.

To receive a wire transfer, you will need to provide the following details to the sender:

  • Your account number (branch transit and account), name and full address (Mailing addresses, such as PO Boxes and Rural Routes are not permitted)
  • RBC’s name and address – RBC Royal Bank (Bahamas) Ltd, Nassau, Bahamas
  • RBC’s BIC Code – ROYCBSNS  
  • Complete purpose of payment
  • This information may not be required unless specifically requested, RBC’s Correspondent’s SWIFT/BIC Code varies according to the currency being sent. Please contact your RBC branch for these details.

 

NOTE: Failure to include the information requested can result in delays and/or cancellation/return of the wire instructions received.
