Service Fee Refunds

RBC Royal Bank issues service fee refunds to some banking package clients

RBC Royal Bank is refunding some clients who were charged a separate fee for a service that should have been included in their banking package fee. Click to view the News Release.

Refund amounts reflect fees, plus accrued interest, which were inadvertently charged from January 1997 for Online and Telephone Banking access, Interac*, PLUS** System and/or Statement Updates. For details about these service fees and the refunds being issued, click to view the Refund Chart.

The majority of accounts are being automatically refunded and those clients will be receiving a letter that notifies them of their refund amount. Refunds are being deposited into their RBC Royal Bank account if it is currently open. Clients with closed RBC accounts will receive a cheque for the refund amount. In some situations where clients no longer deal with RBC or where some information cannot be retrieved automatically, RBC Royal Bank will undertake a manual investigation upon request.

If you believe you are entitled to a refund and do not receive one before December 31, 2004, or if you have received a refund and believe you are entitled to a further reimbursement of fees, please call 1-800 ROYAL® 1-1 to speak with a customer service representative, or complete the Refund Request Form.
